Abacavir
A nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) medication, acting by inhibiting reverse transcriptase, sold under the brand name Ziagen used usually with other medications for HIV/AIDS
Common side effects include vomiting, trouble sleeping, fever, and feeling tired. More adverse effects include lactici acidosis, hepatic damage, and hypersensitivty.
It is listed on WHO’s list of essential medicines. It can cross the blood-brain barrier. It has a half life of approximately 1.5-2.0 hours
